This morning I will be sitting in a dentist chair enduring the last torturous phase of my restoration surgery. Monday I underwent 6 1/2 hours of it and today an equal amount. I have residual serious pain right now from Monday’s ordeal and can only imagine what it will be like to go through it again today and then wake up tomorrow with its aftermath. I dread it but at the same time look forward to getting through with it.

I wonder if we will remember pain in heaven. I think we will. Enduring pain makes me appreciate being pain free more than had I not known it. I would imagine that we will look back on those painful times in this life and remember them and thereby appreciate being in pain-free heaven all the more.

The Bible states that we will see the nail scarred hands and feet of Jesus Christ in heaven, no doubt as an eternal reminder to us of His suffering and sacrifice on our behalf. I can only imagine how He must have felt in the Garden of Gethsemane as He awaited His appointment with the pain of the cross. I’m sure that He dreaded it and yet looked forward to getting through with it.

Hmmm I suppose I should just take the good with the bad and not complain(too much).

Matthew 26:39
My Father, if it is possible, do not let this happen. However, I want to do the things that you desire. I choose not to do the things that I desire.
