Late yesterday afternoon my wife and youngest son and I stood at the edge of Honey Lake and watched the sun go down from several different locations and angles. We did so in order to determine the absolute best location for our Honey Lake Plantation chapel.
We found the perfect place to locate the facility that overlooks the full length of the 80 acre pristine lake and is drop dead gorgeous at sunset. It was particularly beautiful to view because the azaleas are radiantly colored and in full bloom. I have been designing the chapel for the better part of a month and the design is nearing completion (in my head) and will be given to the architect over the next few days. He will reduce my ideas to building plans and soon we will be breaking ground and watching it take shape.
Aside from writing my book, this is one of the most rewarding things that I have ever done. We will be conducting weddings at the chapel as part of our resort development project, but I am most interested in conducting Bible study and worship services for our family, employees, neighbors, and friends as well as to utilize the facility for the Honey Lake Christian youth camp.
Several of my elderly neighbors have related to me that they were baptized in Honey Lake many years ago when it was owned by Pansy Ireland Poe. I hope to see other Baptisms under the Williamson watch. One of these days maybe soon you can visit Honey Lake and be baptized too. (Don’t worry about gators we will sic a bulldog on them if they dare show their ugly snouts)
It is a wonderful thing to make plans for the Lord. I dream about singing Amazing Grace and Victory in Jesus in our little chapel and worshipping a Savior who understands our anxieties, frustrations, and worrisome existence better than we know and seeing souls forever changed by His miraculous grace.
Some of you have lost your jobs, spouses, health, and loved ones, and are beaten down, depressed, and feel abandoned. That is from satan. The one thing that he does not want you to think about is that you can count on the love of God forever and you will never lose your soul once it has been committed to Jesus Christ. While we might suffer for the moment, eternity is forever and we will not suffer throughout eternity.
Now that is something to smile about and I encourage you to keep on smiling throughout the days, weeks, months, and years ahead.
Romans 8:38-39
“For I know that nothing can keep us from the love of God. Death cannot! Life cannot! Angels cannot! Leaders cannot! Any other power cannot! Hard things now or in the future cannot! The world above or the world below cannot! Any other living thing cannot keep us away from the love of God which is ours through Christ Jesus our Lord.”
