I heard Mitt Romney say today that in order for Republicans to regain momentum that they should publically stay true to their belief system regardless of the political price and speak out. WOW – Imagine that… Honesty among politicians.
He said that if they don’t believe in Obama’s government takeover of our country’s health care system, private companies like General Motors, Chrysler, our banks, and AIG, and our energy industry, or for our country to borrow mind boggling trillions and trillions of dollars in order to give it away to ACORN-like political supporters and cronies under the guise of stimulating the economy, then they should speak out against it.
I agree with old Mitt, especially the spending. I do not say this out of some childish impulse or political debate. I say it as a successful businessman of forty years. No entity, not a business, a family, a church, a club, or even the once most powerful country in the world can maintain spending more money than it takes in without eventual collapse. Just look at all those entities collapsing around us daily because of such policies. At the very least, these policies can and surely will devalue the dollar, and create tremendous inflation. When you take a wheelbarrow of money down to the taco stand to buy a taco, you will understand what I am talking about.
News flash: You don’t spend your way out of disaster. You spend your way into disaster. Jeez
If Obama and company are right, then when it all works out as planned, we conservatives can all eat a little crow and apologize. It probably doesn’t taste all that bad and I’ll take mine fried.
If enough people speak what they know in their heart to be true and stand up and say, “Hey slow down a minute, what is being proposed is totally illogical, it defies rationality to spend money you do not have.” Perhaps it will not be too late to prevent the ruin of our grandkids future.
Hmmm. Not many will speak their mind because of the cost. At what cost can we speak freely in America? I am one of those who believe that we no longer have much free speech in this country. I don’t believe we have much of a mainstream free press either.
Does that sound radical? Say the wrong thing and your career is over, because the media will pounce on you and tear you to pieces, attacking even your family. Everything these days has to be politically correct or the dogs are unleashed. Sarah Palin is a prime example. She is being viciously attacked by the press because she is a Christian, does not believe in abortion, is pro guns, and is conservative in her views and says so.
What runs through the minds of other politicians that see her treatment? Terror!
The media either lost its sense of moral direction or never had it, similar to so many in our country. If the media ordains that gay marriage is the way to go, then woe unto anyone who dares oppose it like Miss California recently found out. How is that any different than what we see in Iran’s press?
Today I got an e-mail from someone who was mad at me because I dared to mention “woman’s work” in a joking manner in WFTD. Well pooh poo pee dooh! Woman’s work, woman’s work, woman’s work!!! I’m not running for congress or the presidency and the speech police mean nothing to me. She wrote me and told me to UNSUBSCRIBE HER!!!!! She typed it in all caps which is screaming and yelling in computer-ease. Then she punctuated it with five, (or maybe six I cannot see that well anymore), exclamation points. She could have easily unsubscribed herself by simply clicking on the link below the message, but she wanted me to know that she did not approve of my violation of the speech police rules.
To tell the truth, I don’t believe in such a thing as “woman’s work” anymore than she does, but it is kind of fun to say it and watch her go ballistic like a Tae Pong missile. Whatever a couple can work out around the house to make them happy as far as doing the chores, works for me. As a matter of fact, plenty of my buddies don aprons as they wash the dishes. Snicker snicker – Ha ha
Well EXCU-U-U-U-S-E me for living, but I have been writing WFTD for a decade now and anyone who reads it regularly has surely picked up by now that my thoughts are just that, *my* thoughts. I readily admit that I am imperfect; some would say that I am a pathetic boorish chauvinist sinner. That sounds fair to me. I would also add that I have a weird sense of humor. I don’t really take myself seriously and in my opinion others shouldn’t either.
I suppose this brief digression into the realm of politics will reduce the old subscriber list again tomorrow.(Gosh I hope they don’t want their money back!)
I think I will live through this and besides Mitt Romney might like me even if you don’t, because I will stay true to my belief system. I do not believe in abortion, gay marriage, pornography, or in distancing ourselves from Israel. Oh yeah, and I think we should call a terrorist a terrorist and what is wrong with calling it a war on terror? As information the only way that they will ever take my gun from me is to pry it from my dead fingers. I believe in the rights of private citizens to bear arms and defend their families and homes. My 9 MM stays right by my nightstand where she belongs
Most importantly and aside from all of my many fleshly faults, I do passionately love the Lord with all of my heart and I for one am not ashamed to stand up and be counted as a born again Christian and I will tell the world if given the opportunity, even at the risk that it might possibly offend someone out there, even heaven forbid, a Muslim.
JESUS CHRIST IS MY SAVIOR! I would like to shout it to the world. In fact I will be glad when He comes back and rules the world. Imagine someone in power who does the following:
Romans 2:11
For there is no partiality with
God.
Be careful what you say – NOT!
