Yesterday some friends and I went fishing. In between catching big Wahoo we discussed many things, not the least of which was Easter. One subject that we discussed was what name today, (the Friday prior to Easter), should be called. Today is now known as “Good Friday” to billions of people around the world. Did you know that it used to be referred to as “Black Friday”?
Hmmm Yes the Lord was unjustly and terribly beaten and crucified and murdered on an old rugged cross, but three days later after sacrificing His life for our sins, He arose to rejoin His Father in heaven thereby conquering satan and sin once and for all. Was it “Black Friday”? Yes I believe it was. Was it “Good Friday”? Yes I believe it was.
As you have fun this weekend, remember the price that was paid for your sins and mine on “Black/Good Friday” and keep Christ on your mind. Remember it was Jesus who paid that heavy price for our sins and that the reason that he did so was in order for us to have eternal life in heaven with Him. He loves us with unimaginable love and particularly right now in this crazy sinful world we need Him more than ever. Love the Lord with all of your heart, mind, soul and spirit…
John 3:16
For God so loved the world that
He gave His only begotten Son that
whoever believes in Him should not
perish, but have everlasting life.
Is is good or black?
