This is a test…

“Wives submit yourselves to your own husbands,
as to the Lord. For the husband is head of the
wife, as also Christ is head of the church;
and He is Savior of the body.
Ephesians 5:22

Hmmm Do you believe that? I suppose to this modern day society, this seems ridiculous; however the Bible does clearly state it. Husbands are given instructions too:

“Husbands love your wives, just
As Christ also loved the church and
gave Himself for her”

Christ stated that there is no greater love for someone than to be willing to lay down their life for them. How many husbands would do just that? Probably just about as many husbands would obey this command as wives who would submit to their husbands. Perhaps this is the problem. With the divorce rate sitting at 52% and many of the other half wishing they could get a divorce, I do not think many married couples in the United States abide much by either of God’s commands.

God loves order and this is the order that He setup. The man at the head of the household and husbands loving their wives with everything that they have in them. In our modern times society thinks it knows a better way than God and indeed anyone who tries to follow God’s commands on this subject is labeled a nut. Society, unlike God, is not perfect and its way changes with the times. God does not change nor do His laws. The Bible states that He is the same today as yesterday as a billion years ago, as He will be 10,000 years from now. Like it or not God who is perfect set things up like this which would make these commands perfect and therefore we should follow His commands.

Now here is a real test for some of you. Do you believe the entire Bible or just bits and pieces here and there?
