Wickedness in high places

Have you ever met someone or seen someone on television who you thought might be demon possessed. If you made that thought public in today’s society, you just might be laughed out of the room. Jesus was not laughing when He removed demons from several individuals. Has demon possession disappeared now that we are several centuries down the road?
Of course not!



The Bible states that we are created lower than angels and that they possess powers that we do not have. Indeed throughout the Bible those who actually saw angels face to face at times saw everything from angels who appeared as ordinary looking men such as the ones who came to Sodom and Gomorrah to destroy it, to the majestic Michael who appeared as a glorious entity. Satan himself appeared to Jesus in a vain attempt to tempt Him with everything the world had to offer while he was fasting in the desert. The Bible tells us that fallen angels or demons can possess or actually live within someone, or also just appear as ordinary people. It states that in the end times that satan will deceive many because he can and will transform himself into an “angel of light” and perform miraculous feats such as when he will receive a “grievous” wound to the head and yet not die from it.



Could Osama Bin Laden be possessed? Was Hitler? Stalin? How about the Rolling Stones? Jim Morrison? Michael Jackson? Madonna? The judges on the 9th circuit in San Francisco? There are those who have tremendous evil influence upon the world and use the same to greatly influence others to join them. Some may be demon possessed; some may just be defeated and won over to the dark side. Most seem to enjoy the “best” of what this world has to offer in the way of possessions, fame, and power. Millions of teenagers and young adults around the world listen daily to evil lyrics of songs and watch pornographic and satanic music videos on MTV and VH1 urging them to take drugs, have sex, and rebel against all authority. These same young people attend schools where liberal teachers and professors ridicule the Bible and deny even the existence of God. Hollywood and the media lean towards the same ideology.
Lawmakers and judges in Washington ban prayer in schools, allow the murder of innocent unborn children through abortion, allow pornography to be bought and sold like comic books by our children. Even some churches have been penetrated, preaching blasphemous doctrine and condoning homosexuality.



Suppose for a second you were satan. Where would you mount your campaign against humanity? Music, television, printed media, our lawmakers, and especially schools. That is exactly what this powerful monster is doing. He is not stupid, he was the second most powerful creation that God created and he is using that power to hurt you and me.
The good news is that God is more powerful and He stands ready to give each of us all of the help we need. It is a good thing too, as the Bible tells us that we cannot fight this war alone and win. It states that we should be strong in the LORD and in the power of HIS might. It goes on to state that we are to put on the whole armor of the Lord that we may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we are not fighting flesh and blood, rather against principalities, powers, rulers of darkness and spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.



What is the armor of God? Truth, righteousness, peace, faith, salvation, the word of God, and prayer. As you enter into battle today, are you wearing the whole armor of God? If not, the superior power of satan and his hordes of fallen angels now known as demons could capture your soul whereby you will join them in a torturous existence apart from God in Hell for eternity. The Bible tells us that we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us; however we must do OUR part. Did you attend church this weekend? OK, how about last weekend? Have you looked at your Bible today? This month? How about prayer? Have you asked God to help you battle the forces of evil that are warring for your soul today? Are you living a life of righteousness, peace, truth and salvation? If not, resolve yourself to start today. Jesus stands ready to help, all we have to do is call upon Him and He will win the war for your soul and protect you forever. The world is temporal and is passing away, but eternity is FOREVER. Don’t be short-sighted and don’t play into satan and his horde’s hands…
