At the risk of receiving hate mail I am going on record as disliking country music. In an effort to thwart nasty letters, I will say something nice about the country music industry in general. Female country artists are the most beautiful, (has to be the long hair), but
alas, the music drives me up the wall. In general I regard music in
the same light as eating. I wouldn’t want a hamburger for every meal and I do not want to listen to the same type of music all of the time.
Blues is my favorite, I love gospel, also Rock and Roll, Reggae on occasion, I can listen to swing once in a blue moon, and always Hawaiian, but listening to Country music is like dragging a fingernail across a blackboard to me. It is not just the nasal whining and exaggerated ignorant grammar, it is the lyrics too. Each song is about cheating on your spouse, getting drunk, going to-being in-getting out of prison, going against the establishment and winning, etc. It makes me feel like going out and hanging myself after listening to practically any slow song. I heard a country song the other day and the lyrics were:
“You can take this job and shove it, I ain’t working here no more”. Why can’t they say: “You can take this job and love it, I ain’t poor no more”.
Of course country music lyrics are no worse than most forms of music.
I believe that much of today’s music is satanic. Just listen to the lyrics and watch some of the shows on VH1 such as “Behind the Music” and “Legends of music”. Practically every music superstar is or has been a drug addict/alcoholic, and admittedly engaged in wild hedonistic sexual behavior. Groupies that are in awe of the scene line up backstage just waiting for the opportunity to engage in wild orgies with these characters whom they have never even met. These parties are fueled by cocaine, hallucinogenic drugs such as Ecstasy, heroin and combined with large amounts of hard liquor. Why would these beautiful girls flock to men they have never met? What is the attraction? Is it the tattoos?
Dirty tattered clothes? Long scraggly hair? Foul language? The music?
Satan?
I believe the latter. A generation of young people are being influenced heavily on a daily basis with satanic music. They think it is cool to be like these “superstars”. Watching MTV music videos should be X-rated.
When I was young, (45 years ago), it would have been illegal to show today’s commonplace music videos, that are watched daily by millions of kids worldwide, anytime of day, right at home on their television sets.
(There were no X-rated movies or movie theaters back then either). It was a scandal when Elvis came on the scene with his “gyrating” hips.
People wanted to ban him from performing because of it, (except for the screaming adoring females that flocked to watch). Pornography was all underground back then. Television contained mostly westerns and comedy shows. The music videos of today would have been hard core pornography when I was a youngster. Rappers would have been locked up back then.
Now look at it. What a mess.
This is progress???? I believe we are moving towards the final day at a breathtaking pace. One day the Lord will say, “Enough!”, and put an end to this mess just like He did in the days of Noah and Sodom and Gomorrah. The Lord was precise in warning the people of that day of what was going to happen if they did not change their ways, and Jesus is precise in telling us today what is going to happen if this “mess”
continues. If you haven’t made up your mind whether to become a Christian or not please do so soon. Every indication is that, “Time is NOT on your side”! I hate to be a cynic, but I see no signs of a world that is moving towards repentance
