It hardly seems possible that it is already September 11th. One year
ago today, at 9:20 AM, terrorists struck the heart of America with a vicious attack on our own soil. Thousands lost their lives. Huge monuments to human ingenuity, military and financial might were reduced to rubble within minutes. Suddenly our powerful government did not seem so powerful. People were afraid for their very lives. No one knew what terror might come next, or from which direction it might come. People were terrified when they realized that their lives were suddenly very fragile and vulnerable. The churches were filled to overflowing overnight.
A year has passed and people are no longer flocking to churches and praying for God to protect them. How quickly we forget. The same could be said of the Israelites when Moses left them to meet God and receive the ten commandments. They could clearly hear the rumbling of the mountain and could view it shrouded with fiery clouds; however the people got tired of waiting, and when Moses finally did return he found them wildly dancing around a golden calf and partying down, drowning in their own cesspool of wickedness and sin.
I hope that everyone in America will remember that all of the great and wonderful things about the USA are blessings from God. He has blessed this nation above all nations on earth. September 11th should be our wake-up call to return to God before it is too late and everything is stripped away from us in a “moment’s passing of time”. You smirk at that? What if Saddam operatives were to nuke Washington DC today? I do not even like to think about it!
We must return to God and pray for His protection and continued blessings for the greatest nation on earth, the good old USA. You can begin by going to church. Attend one of the many memorial services tonight, then attend regular services this Sunday. Pick up your Bible and read God’s word today. September 11th was allowed to happen for a purpose. God wants this country and all people to return to Him and turn from sin. Don’t worship the stupid golden calves of this world that couldn’t save a fly stuck in ointment.

Psalms 6:1
O Lord do not rebuke me in
Your anger,
Nor chasten me in Your hot
displeasure.
Have mercy on me Lord, for
I am weak…
