I was talking with someone recently about friends. This individual stated that he did not have any close friends. In this busy world it is difficult to maintain friendships. We work all week and are tired at night. Sometimes we work on Saturday too, and we go to church on Sunday. It simply does not leave much time for cultivating friendships; nonetheless, a good friendship is a valuable thing and worth some effort. In Proverbs the Bible states that “A man who has friends must himself be friendly”. It also states, “A friend loves at all times”.
If you do not have many friends, today is the day to start cultivating some. Follow the foregoing Biblical advice about how to garner friends and go for it. You will not be sorry. Everyone should have at least one best friend, and hopefully several others.
Jesus wants to be your friend also. His requirements are simple.
