Faith without works

The Bible is very clear that the only way to obtain salvation is through faith in Jesus Christ. We must repent of our sins, believe that Jesus took our rightful place on the cross, died for our sins, and was resurrected in three days. Many people believe that one merely has to SAY that they believe in God and that is it. In fact most people when asked if they think they will go to heaven when they die, answer in the affirmative. When further prodded as to why they think God will accept them into His kingdom, they answer that they are a good person and believe in God. As we look to the Bible for guidance on this subject, it states that even the demons in Hell believe in God and Jesus and tremble at the very mention of His name. Obviously merely being cognizant that God and Jesus exist is not sufficient. Satan knows God and Jesus intimately and he is doomed to a fate worse than all others.
The Bible states that if one is truly born again that they will have works and faith.

Christians who do not do the work of the Lord such as helping the poor, comforting the sick, contributing to the church, spreading the Word of God, etc.should wonder if they are truly children of God. The Bible clearly states that good works alone will not get you into paradise, without the atoning blood of Jesus covering their sins, no one will enter paradise . But the Bible does state that if you are truly justified, you will perform good works as a result of your faith. If someone does not attend church regularly, perform good works, or enjoy studying and sharing the Word of God, there has to be a reason why. If we are truly born again, we would WANT to do those things. If doing the work of the Lord is a chore instead of something that one enjoys, perhaps salvation is not secure. I would urge everyone to consider their efforts in pursuing those things that God wants us to be doing.
Absolute faith in God will lead to our doing good works. If you were not in church last Sunday there has to be a reason. What was more important to you than God? The Bible says faith without works is “dead”. Is your faith dead? Dying? Or is it alive and well? Pretty strong stuff when your eternal future is at stake. Think about it!
