Decisions decisions

One of our readers submitted the following. It is long, but well worth reading. We’ll never have an opportunity to visit an actual “Room of Decision” as depicted below, nevertheless, the choices portrayed are the choices that we have. It is a “no-brainer” as to which way to go. It is amazing to me that so many people decide against taking the path of Christ. It is the only road to eternal peace and happiness.

Room of Decision…..

Wherever you are right now, makes no difference.
Whatever you can and will be does not matter – as you approach the door to the room of decision…..
You may be young, or you may be old…..
You may be rich, or you may be poor….
Disabled or whole……
As you push the door open – to the room of decision….
It is a place where you’ve been called….
to recognize yourself…..
as you enter in….
you see four walls….
whiter than white…..
and the door closes behind you.
IN this room, there is no turning back…
As you turn to reconsider – there is no door…..
You are alone….in the room of decision….
You must make a choice before leaving….
and that is why it is the room of decision……
All that you are and could be…has no bearing….
All that you’ve known or will know….is not optional….
All that you consider and have considered….has no place…
You sit in the middle of the room…..
and reason how long you must be here….
As you look at your watch…..
Time has stopped….there is no time in the room of decision….
You wait, and wonder and as you do….
you realize that in you there is only the sense of inadequacy, the sense of being unfulfilled, unable to reason your way into comfort, or establish yourself into a sense of importance, or build within your mind a meaning and purpose….
these four walls have become the mirror of your inner view….
and there is nothing that can stand….
within you…..in the room of decision.
You realize and recognize that in this room….
there is nothing that you can do to make something of yourself.
There is nothing that you have that can help yourself.
There is no one to promote you, or applaud you, and pride or shame are the same: absence of fulfillment….
then you wonder….what then – is there to decide in the room of decision?
Through the wall before you….a figure appears….shining intensely coming in….
until the glorious light around the figure is more intense than the wall, and as a man in white appears before you….the wall is once again clearly seen behind him.
“I am the Decision: the Alpha and Omega….” He extends his hands….
on each arm, above his wrists are pierced wounds…..
visibly pounding into your mind the affliction endured….
You look into the face of Jesus Christ – the Son of God.
Pierced for the transgressions of the world….
and now….for you….
“I am the decision you must make….” He says again.
His voice calm, deeply moving, profound and filled with love.
He opens the arms of invitation……
On either side of the wall behind him appear a door to the right and one to the left.
The door on the left leads to hell….
the one on the right leads to heaven….
He doesn’t say this….yet, suddenly as they appear – you know.
The door on the left has an eerie black shadow around it….while the door on the right has a white, brilliant, radiant light seeping through – and above the door….a cross…with the Lamb’s blood marked over it.
Once you walk through that door…you are sealed by the blood of the Lamb.
He is the Lamb…..that has taken away the sins of the world….
your sins…if you will decide to accept Him.
“You can not leave here without making a decision….” He says gently. “A decision that will affect the rest of your life….and the rest of eternity….BUT – I am the resurrection and the life – and whosoever believes in me, although he were dead….yet he SHALL live…”
You stand perhaps, uncertain to the meaning of this decision….
yet everything in you knows that there is no life without Him….
He is the essence of life….and He gave His life so that you might have

Him…..
that you might have LIFE.
Forevermore…..
“I can walk through this door with you…” Jesus says….”or you will have to walk through that door without Me…..”
Fear grips you as you look at the door on the left…..
You even find your mind plaguing doubts and questions…..
but your heart cries out for meaning, fulfillment, and for satisfaction….
Jesus walks to the door on the left….
“Behind this….into eternity without Me….is literal separation. A place where those who refuse Me – and my atonement that I have given for their sins….this is where they go. It isn’t a myth….it is truly a separated place where there is weeping and gnashing of teeth…..here it is too late to make the choice after all mercy has been given -“
He opens the door and you see a pitch darkness unlike anything you’ve ever seen…..you walk towards the door and look into it…..
below is a pit….with fire, and with souls crying out in desperation, thirsting for the Living God….separated by their own choice….their own will – having refused Him in their moment of decision…..and the blackness….the darkness….the moaning….the horror…..
and on the face of the Lord…..tears swell in His eyes…..and quickly fall onto His cheeks….He closes the door…..
Slowly, without a word He approaches the door on the right and opens it….
You walk over and look to see glory unimaginable…..
A radiance and brilliance in color, vivid in life and grace…..
too wonderful to take in with your own eyes all at once…..
overwhelming is the sight you see….His creation and all created with colors that are not even on earth, and creatures that you have never seen….flowers that breathe…and everything seen worships and glorifies the Lord – and angels…..dressed in white….praising with the most enchanting song ever heard……and people….by the River of Life….dressed in garments of salvation, and robes of righteousness….
He smiles as He closes the door and you find yourself looking at the Savior of the world…..still to make the decision of eternity…..
and you might have thought it had been about church, or religion, or goodwill…..
and now in that moment do you see it has everything to do with God.
And your relationship with Him…..
“I am the decision you must make….” He says again gently…..
and now you understand completely…..
as His arms are again open in invitation…..
You reach out to Him like a child… and He embraces you….
and within….you realize He is everything you ever needed, and every moment you ever wanted….
He takes your hand….
“Come…” He says softly….
and He opens the door to the right again….this time…you enter with Him….
not only are you His now…..but forever….as together…
you leave the room of decision.
