Silence of the lambs – Roaring of the lion

The Bible warns us to be careful, because our adversary the devil goes about “as a roaring lion” seeking whom he may devour. I once heard that a roaring lion can actually be heard as much as 5 miles away. I don’t know if that is a fact; however it is definitely loud. I think that it is no coincidence that Satan is depicted as being loud as he stalks his victims. The irony is not lost on me that most of us Christians are not loud; rather we silently go as lambs to the slaughter.

Martin Luther King Jr. once said: “In the end, we will not remember the words of our enemies, but instead the silence of our friends.” This reminds me of the actions (or better, the non-actions) of what is commonly referred to as the silent majority, the decent, God-fearing people with character and integrity who almost never speak up against anything. For instance who is actually FOR partial birth abortion?
Just objectively think about this gruesome procedure for a moment.
They partially deliver a live baby, (everything except its head which is partially left in the womb), and then stick a needle in its head and suck the baby’s brain out. This is hideous murder. This isn’t
“choice”, and shouldn’t be labeled as such.

Where is the outcry? Why doesn’t the silent majority speak out against this with passion? It is wrong and inhumane by most anyone’s standards.
The “roaring lion” gets their message out loud and clear, portraying it as nothing but another of life’s “choices” and anyone who is opposed is a right wing fanatic. The silence of the lambs concerning this issue is disconcerting.

Has anyone reading this ever tried to do anything about this aberration against innocent children? How about you? Have you ever taken time to write to congressmen and congresswomen and speak out against this? Have you ever joined a demonstration against it? Have you at least prayed about it? Have you ever in your life taken any action against this or any other perversion deemed acceptable by the “roaring lions”? The other side does! They are loud and they are consistent and we are losing this war, daily! The Bible teaches that John the Baptist “leapt for joy” while still in the womb when Mary who was pregnant with Jesus came into the same room. This clearly spells out for us that life begins in the womb.

Abortion is just one issue, there are many more. Prayer in schools, pornography on the net and on TV, homosexuality being portrayed as an acceptable lifestyle, evolution but not creationism being taught in schools, the list is endless. Why doesn’t the silent majority speak out? The ACLU and liberal media “roar” daily.

I know in my heart that most people don’t like having a President who lies and cheats on his wife or a vice president who lies about fund raising, or says he is against abortion at one point and then switches his position for a few lousy votes. If you cannot or will not do anything but silently be distressed over these issues, at least get off your tail and vote. Elections can give the silent majority a chance to speak out. Please at least register to vote and do so with your conscience. (And vote for Bush/Cheney.)
