Yesterday I met a young man and when he first walked up to me and I took one look at him, I instantly liked him. He had a radiant smile, and his countenance was one of peace, joy, and love. He appeared to be of Indian descent, (India) and was young, (which means to me that he was in his late thirties). He was dressed nice and had a big beautiful smile that never left his face.

It turns out he was in Tower 1 on the 83rd floor of the Twin Towers on that fateful day on 9/11 in Manhattan when cowardly terrorists murdered several thousand people. This young man was one of the few that miraculously made it out of that tower that day.

It turns out that afterwards he turned to Jesus Christ as His Savior and now he spends much of his time speaking at various churches and elsewhere about the love, joy, and peace that can only come from a close personal relationship with Jesus Christ in spite of whatever may have happened to us.

And the good news for us is that His love is available free of charge to whomever asks for it.

I know many people who’ve endured tragedy and anguish in their lives. Some turn to alcohol, drugs, violence, sex, get incredibly angry at God, or just go into deep depression and ball up on the couch in the fetal position to try and drown out the pain, but occasionally there are those who turn to Jesus Christ.

What a difference He makes in their life and what a great witness people like my new friend are in inspiring others to follow Him.

This afternoon I’m speaking to approximately 1000 folks who make their living counseling others on alcohol and drug abuse. Unlike me most of them are PHD’s and highly trained psychiatrists, psychologists, and sociologists. (Please pray for me!)

Highly trained people similar to them diagnosed me as being a sociopath with no conscience and as being incapable of love. They told me my condition was incurable and they kicked me out of the military because of it.

They meant well and their books told them that was the proper diagnosis for me, but the book they were not using was the Bible. It states that we can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens us. They just did not know the power of God, (the Great Physician) and His ability to heal all that ails us. I intend to tell these guys today just that. I hope I don’t get booed off the stage, but I intend to be bold in my statements, because they are so very true.

If you have seemingly insurmountable problems this morning, pray to Him and turn to Him, and follow Him. He will save you. You too can have His beautiful love, joy, and peace. Pray to Him right now for that gentle calmness to take over your spirit . . .

Now go out there and have a great day with a big smile on your face!

Matthew 7:7

“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened. Or which one of you, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a serpent? If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!”
